Depends on what kind of acne you have. I have tried several things--here's my list--

Tea tree oil - works if you have serious oily skin - makes your skin less oily and some people break out less (apparently takes longer to work) Just add a couple of drops to a moist cotton ball or make up remover pad.

Benzoyl peroxide - get it as a cream (1 - 2%) or in other products like glytone or proactive...it seriously dries your skin so if you try it get a good moisturizer.

Antibiotics - Tricycline worked for a while, and minocycline was working until I went off it to go on

Accutane - for intense cystic acne and oily skin. Works like a charm but can give you medical problems.

I heard Witch Hazel helped reduce oil problems not sure about acne though.

If you want my advice start with the natural approach first (Tea Tree oil). The people it works for it works well. Plus it's cheap (I spent $8 on a bottle at the pharmacy.)

Good luck!
