I have been interested in natural remedies for over 30 years and truly believe there is no better pharmacy than nature. I have cured a number of health problems naturally and feel that any disease we may have can be cured with what is available from our environment.

Acne can have terrible consequences for people. Not only can it result in physical scarring, there’s also the mental scarring as well.

Oil and dirt can plug up pores, resulting in acne (blackheads and whiteheads). If bacteria get trapped, the skin gets inflamed and the result is pimples.

Keeping the skin clean is the best way to prevent acne, but everyone has problems with acne at one time or another. Hormone imbalance is also a cause of acne, which is why teenagers and often pregnant women have problems with acne. Stress can also lead to skin problems.

Most people with acne will buy over-the-counter products, but most of these products contain chemicals that, not only can slow down the healing process, but can also aggravate the problem, resulting in even more skin problems. Not only that, they’re generally more expensive than home remedies.

Which leads us to, how can we treat acne naturally?

Nature has been said to be mankind’s medicine cabinet. Many of our pharmaceuticals today even come from nature. There are many natural products that can be used to treat acne.

While these methods won’t produce results overnight, stay with them. You may even want to combine a couple of these remedies to see how they work for you.

· One of the number one ways to treat acne naturally is with oatmeal. Oatmeal draws out the excess oil and impurities from your skin. Put it in a blender and pulverize it, then add enough water to make a thick paste. Apply it to your face and leave on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse off with warm water. Oatmeal also makes an excellent exfoliate. Just by rubbing the paste around your face it will remove dead cells

· Juice 1 cucumber with a juice extractor. Then apply the juice to the pimples. Leave on for at least 15 minutes, and then wash off with warm water. Make sure this is done daily.

· Wash your face with mild soap and hot water, and then apply a thin layer of extra-virgin cold pressed olive oil. Don’t wash off the olive oil, the skin needs to absorb the oil. Repeat three times a day. Usually, the skin will clear up within a week. To maintain a clear skin, do this once a day.

· Rub fresh garlic on your acne. You can also puree the garlic and use later. Do this daily and you will see an improvement of your skin. Another variation is to puree 3 or 4 cloves of garlic and soak them in milk for half an hour (this helps remove the smell), then rub the mixture on your acne.

· Raw potatoes are great for clearing acne fast. Grate or shred a potato and apply it as a poultice. This not only works for acne, but also for boils and wrinkles. Potatoes contain sulphur, potassium, phosphorus, enzymes, vitamin C and protein, which are all excellent for the skin.

· Tea tree oil has been found to be both an antifungal and antiseptic (helps prevent infections). Put some on a cotton swab and apply it to your acne with it. Leave on all night (or all day).

· You can also make a paste of salt and vinegar. Rub it on the acne and leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.

· Apple cider vinegar is one of nature’s best overall products. Simply dilute one part vinegar to five parts water and apply it to your skin with a cotton ball. Not only does the vinegar help to remove excess oil, it helps destroy bacteria as well as helping to maintain your skin’s pH. This is definitely one of the best acne natural remedies.

· Another favorite treatment is to make a paste of powdered nutmeg and milk and apply to your face. Many people swear by this one!

Okay, well I have ALOT of acne on my forhead thank god not on my face, but anyways I was wondering what are the best home remedies to clear it and over the counter brands that I could use, that actually WORK.

Use some rubbing alcohol and apply a VERY small amount on your pimple. And if you’re kinda embarrassed where some of your acne is appearing from, you can disguise it by use a Q-tip or cotton ball and apply it on. Oh and try this! Mix olive oil and salt together and apply it to your face. It really works! I know "oil" but trust me, it works. Don’t use products like Proactive…IT DOES NOT REALLY WORK! Oh and another way to zap pimples is toothpaste and shaving cream! Use toothpaste and apply it to your pimple and cover it up with a band-aid. Shaving cream works too, apply it on and your acne will dry up immediately….but don’t forget to wash your face even though it’s gone. Dab garlic juice on your face. It works too, and tries smashing an aspirin tablet and mixes some lemon juice with it and applies to your face daily. Don’t stress out and try to keep your hands and hair away from your face! How to treat pimples?

I have several pimples that pop up recently and i don’t know when to pop them since I heard it will leave a scar permanently on your face. It’s not acne though but I think it’s because of eating too much fried stuff in the past several days.

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the pimples naturally without leaving scars?

O, i’m 20 btw so does that age cause more hormone fluctuation which lead to more pimples?

pick top of pimple and only squeeze white stuff out…bleeding causes scabbibg which can lead to scarring.

in these areas…
forehead=stress
nose/cheeks=oily skin
around mouth= hormones

Drink a lot of water..cut back on soda and greasy food.

Also..
-Alternate face washes…your skin tends to get prone to facial cleansers.

I have bad acne and this is what I do, If I keep up with the routine my skin stays clear…

Regular Bar Soap every morning (Irish Spring)
Cetaphil at night for a week
St. Ives Apricot Scrub; blemish & black head control the next week

well like a week ago i got a breakout or whatever you call it and i dont want to use liquids and artificial stuff to get rid of the acne cause they never work and bacause i feel it damages my skin. so are there any fast home remedies anyone recommends. i go back to school like in two weeks and i dont want to go like this. if you can help me thank you soooooooooooo much.

Tea tree oil is my number one go to for any problem spots I get. It helps dry them out and is also a natural disinfectant. You can get it at most drug stores (CVS, Walgreens) and Walmart/Target. Good luck!

i’ve basically tried clean & clear, and Proactive. i am not willing to buy another product of those whats so ever. i DO NOT have severe acne i just have a fe pimples here and there but definetly not severe acne. what i use daily or a few times a week is the WAVE the one where Vanessa Hudgens is in the commercial. does anyone know any GOOD home remedies that ACTUALLY work using stuff that i prob do have in my house?

I am still very young, and have had many medications to treat my severe acne.
I started with topical creams and infection creams, blue-ray light treatment, then to antibacterial pills, and now I have been taking accutane for the past four months. In the course of these months, they have upped my prescription from one to two a day.

Though the accutane is helping a bit, I still have discolored, shallow scars from the acne. Because I am still young, my dermatologist has suggested I wait till my skin naturally rids of the bad skin. But i know most of the scars are here to stay.

What can I do for treatment? I have heard of things like microdermabrasion, but I dont know much about it. Is there any way I can get rid of these scars without going into surgery or under the knife/lazer?
