Are there any home remedies that get rid of acne?
There are little acne bumps on my lower forehead and one small one between my eyebrows.
I've tried so many facial scrubs, washes, lotions, masks that suppository "treat" acne. Is there any good home remedies that clears acne? Or should I just drink a lot of water and lay off the sugar? I've read that plain oatmeal mixed with honey treats acne, but i'm not sure what type of oatmeal to use. Please help, thanks ![]()
Use a mild soap for sensitive skin but it doesn't matter exactly what type of soap you use. It can be designed for acne-prone skin or not, but you will want to treat your skin gently. Harsh antibacterial soap may actually make your acne worse by irritating skin.
Remove dead skin cells regularly by exfoliating. Use a gentle scrub with natural defoliants like ground walnut shells, or use an over-the-counter chemical defoliant like salicylic acid or glycolic acid. Adding ground walnut shell to a thick moisturizer like cocoa butter can be effective too. Take caution, because over-exfoliating can actually increase the likelihood of acne by irritating the skin. Pat dry, rather than rubbing, since rubbing can cause irritation to the fresh skin you've just revealed.
Use a good toner. Spray onto face or wipe on with a cotton ball and wipe off with a clean, dry cotton ball. This gets rid of excess cleanser and tightens pores. Good, inexpensive choices include plain witch hazel for normal to dry skin, lemon juice, or 3% hydrogen peroxide for oily skin. 70% ethyl rubbing alcohol can also be used for severe oiliness, but it can really dry out your skin and irritate it more. Some toners are medicated, and this stage is the best for using a medicated product if you're only going to use one medication.
Bacteria in pores is one cause of spots. Reduce the amount of bacteria by using toners containing anti-bacterial agents like alcohol, peroxide and benzalkonium chloride, and by using creams that contain benzoyl peroxide (ask your doctor about benzaclin, with moisturizer if you have dry skin, as it works better than just plain benzoyl because benzoyl takes up to 8 weeks before improvement is seen) which kill bacteria as well as cause the skin to regenerate faster.

home remedies for acne and scars on my face?
what home remedies can i use to clear acne and scars cause by acne
Lemon juice and baking soda are suppose to be pretty effective. Also apple cider vinegar. Some people swear by vitamin E although I have never tired it. I believe you just buy vitamin E tablets, punch a hole in one and smear on face. Although not a home remedy, I use 10% aha which seems to be working, although it does take a few weeks to see good results. Depending on the scars, you may have to see a dermatologist as deep and severe ones wont go away without some sort of laser/peel/high strength cream etc. Check out the forums at www.acne.org for some great ideas from people who are going through the same thing. THey have sections for scars and for holistic health, you may find something that works.

Remove any make-up you have on. Wearing make-up can clog pores, making them dirty and causing pimples. Also try to wear oil-free makeup (if you have oily skin) or a medicated makeup.

Are there any effective home remedies for acne scars?
I have acne scars all over my back. Some are light scars but others are deeper and red marks. Are there any effective home remedies for acne scars
For best results, you'll want to treat your scars both internally and externally. That means you need to treat your body right so it has what it needs to repair your skin - makes sense, right?
Then, treat the outside with a scar cream that contains the most important ingredients like Vitamin E and cocoa butter and skin conditioners.
I liked this site's 3-step recommendations:

When I realized that I needed to get more vitamins and sleep and water, my scars started fading much faster than with just creams. Hope that helps!
What are some really good home remedies for acne?
I have acne. It's not mild but not extreme.. I've been scrubbing my face each night with Noxema and it's not helping at all. Are there any home remedies that I can whip up with stuff just lying around the house that actually WORKS? Thanks.
Hi, I am a DIY person
so I am always looking for homemade stuff instead of buying.
I looked into the matter and I found out many natural home remedies for acne. Most of them will help your skin heal from the damage caused by your acne, but they won't cure the acne.
But I didn't give up. One theory that made sense to me is that you need to treat the internal problem causing acne. That is - hormonal imbalances, toxines etc..
How can you do that? - Primarily you must help the liver, the pancreas and the kidney.
I am currently using "Apple Cider Vinegar" which is a natural cure for acne.
Apple Cider Vinegar is an effective natural agent that cures acne by killing the bacteria and balancing our skin's pH level (which is a measure of acidity). It also absorbs excessive oil from our skin, which is a leading cause of acne.
In the spring I will take a Dandelion cure.
Dandelion shuns wet places, it has two outstanding qualities: it is useful in disorders of the liver and of the gallbladder.
Dandelion and Stinging Nettle have a blood purifying effect. They aide the functions of the liver and the pancreas, thus reducing the hormonal imbalances in the body.
Infusion: 1 heaped tablespoon of roots is soaked in cold water overnight, brought to the boil and strained next day. This amount is apportionately sipped, half an hour before and half an hour after breakfast.
I also recommend a Nettle cure as an acne remedy.
- Wear gloves when handling fresh nettle plants.
- Remove leaves from stems and discard stems.
- Fill a teapot full of nettle leaves
- Pour boiling water over the leaves.
- Steep for 5 minutes.
- Add honey and/or lemon if desired and drink.
The tea will be somewhat bitter. However, it is quite nutritious an especially high in calcium.
Other quick homemade acne treatments I found to keep your skin clean:
1. Garlic is an excellent treatment for acne, in case you did not know. Just rub with a garlic clove cut in two over the acne, or cut into slivers a garlic clove and apply over acne with a plaster, leaving overnight to act;
2. Onion is a good apprentice in the fight against acne and its traces when it disappears. Make a puree with the blender and apply it as a facial mask once a week;
3. Lemon juice applied to skin helps to close pores, and to increase the brightness of skin;
4. Baking soda mixed with vegetal soap (preferably soap made only from olive oil or vegetable oil) is the best antibacterial scrub the skin;
5. Mixture of fine sea salt to whites of an egg is very good for sensitive skin attacked by acne. Apply as a mask and remove easily with circular movements;
6. Honey can be applied as a mask for acne skin;
7. Vinegar is a good tonic antiseptic for acne, acting very gentle if you mix in equal proportion with water or green tea;
8. Yogurt is very effective and safe for skin prone to acne. Apply directly from the jar, let it react 5-10 minutes, then rinse;
9. Cut a gauze circle about the size of the face, soak it in fresh made green tea (very hot but not boiling) and apply on face. Let dry and remove carefully;
10. Herbs such as echinacea, rosemary, dill and parsley are great for teas and infusions wich purify the skin.
What are some acne home remedies?
I'm 14 years old and I'm trying to find a home-remedy for acne. I mostly get zits on and around my nose. I tried a zinc shampoo and bar soap but didn't have much results. Now I'm using baking powder mixed with water and it seems to be working a bit but it's slow. What's a good home remedy to cure acne?

What are some good home remedies for acne?
I have mild/moderate acne all over my face and I want to know some good home remedies to clear my face up. When I say home remedies, i mean no expensive store bought things like proactive or anything because I don't currently have the money for it. I jsut want some simple ways to clear my face up for school
that's funny that toothpaste is actually a good way to clear some up, because I used to do that when I first started getting them every once and a while
Many people are now looking towards natural home remedies for acne, instead of off-the-shelf products to get rid of their acne problems. This is understandable since it is both convenient and economical to do so at home. Before we go straight into any home remedy for acne, let's take a look at some of the simple things to do to complement our acne home remedies.
Proper vitamin supplement intakes, lots of water and regular exercise will help to detoxify our bodies, and improve our skin condition. This will work hand in hand with the following cheap but effective home remedies for acne:
1. Did you know that your toothpaste can help to reduce the swelling of your pimples? Apply some before you sleep and you will see the immediate effect the next morning.
2. Mix lemon juice with rose water. One lemon with same proportion of rose water will do. Apply it on your face and rinse it only after 30 mins. Constantly doing so will not only get rid of acne and pimples, but it also has the effect of lightening the skin blemishes.
3. Use fresh mint juice to apply on your face.
4. Strawberry leaves can also help to reduce the pimple swelling.
5. Orange peel can also be used. Basically, you need to mash it or blend it, mix with some water to form a paste before applying on your problem area.
6. Mix turmeric powder with some mint juice before applying on the acne. Wash it off with clean, lukewarm water after about 30 mins.
7. Even cooking condiments such as vinegar and salt have their uses as home remedies for acne. Mix the two together, before rubbing the mix over the pimples. Leave it there for some 10 to 20 mins before removing with lukewarm water.
8. Make a paste with cucumber before using it as a facial mask. Leave the mask on for 30 mins daily. Doing this will prevent acne from breaking out.
9. If you can tolerate the smell of garlic on your face, then go ahead to apply some fresh garlic on the pimples. They will disappear after repeated applications.
10. Even the milk that you drink is useful as a home remedy for acne. Blend nutmeg with milk and you have a powerful paste to zap those pimples away.
While these have worked for many folks who tried them, it does not guarantee it will work for some people.
Any Acne Home Remedies that work?
Is there any acne home remedies that will get rid of acne for good overnight? If not overnight, one that actually works? Thanks a bunch.
Has anyone actually tried any, and have any experience with one home remedy?
Ensure your skin is clean.
Squeeze 1 teaspoon of lemon juice into a small bowl. Use a cotton ball to soak up some juice. Dilute it with water if it burns.
Dab the juice onto your pimples, whiteheads, blackheads, and pimples.
Leave on over night and rinse in the morning. Apply it again (under your makeup if you’re female).
If you find the lemon juice too strong too leave on, even diluted with water, wash it off after 10 minutes in cold water.
HOPE THIS HELPS MAN
What worked to cure your acne? Preferably home remedies?
I have heard that toothpaste and tomatoes can help with acne. What products or home remedies have you used that cleared up your acne? I know that everyone's skin is different, so what worked for you might not work for me, but it never hurts to try.
I actually have tried the asprin thing. It made my skin smooth but didn't seem to do much for my acne.
aspirin thing usually eats off skin faster than it dies, helps,. acne is a bacteria, bacteria like warm moist things. try using a new towel and face cloth every shower. maybe change your bed Linen and shower before bed instead of in the morning. keep up on pillow case changes a lot of people sweat and or drool in there sleep making a pillow a good host for the bacteria. if you share your towels with a family keep a few out so each will get a chance to fully dry before someone else uses it again. acne is not a thing indicating dirt, acne will not survive in dirt, it likes only nice clean humans. if you are always washing you could be killing off the natural germs that normally kill the acne or washing off important chemicals your body might be making to fight them. some people are just very tasty to them unfortunately and sometimes a doctor will prescribe tetracycline to help kill them off.
if aspirin (which is acidic) did not control them then maybe something alkali will (alkali is opposite of acid like baking soda), be careful too much alkali can be just like too much acid to your skin and burn you, (drano is alkali and it will eat you).
