Acne—Home remedies?
I have a serious case of acne. (Well, actually its just random red spots and alot of bumps that are not red) I've been using "Acne Free" medication and it works a little--better than not using it at all, but it doesn't work all the way. I'v also used clearasil but that just made that acne worse for me. So I was wodering if anyone knew any good HOME REMEDIES that I could use. I've searched on the internet but, I want some actual comments and suggestions from as MANY PEOPLE as possible. Please help me and thank you.
I also would like some information on using toothpaste for acne if you could.
Some people swear toothpaste works, others swear it doesn't. It's worth a try putting it on before you go to sleep to see if it does work, just a small blob. For me it doesn't work but I have a friend who does it all the time and says it works for her.
TCP is good, but you smell of it for maybe a couple of days- no matter how many showers!
Drink lots of water, it flushes out the germs and is good for your skin.
Try not to touch your face, it will only spread the spot germs/bacteria.
I am currently using Clearasil as well as doing the last two tips I mentioned and my spots seem to be clearing up.

I have tried a lot of crap on my face and "home rededies" but made my acne much worse. I went to see a dermatologist and my acne went away. I used different meds, but Accutane helped me the most

Toothpaste–the cure for everything. Dab a small amount of toothpaste on the pimple and let it dry, overnight if possible. Your pimple will dry out. Aloe does pretty much the same thing to your pimple, but I recommend spreading the aloe goop (from the actual leaf) all over your face. It can't hurt, and it makes your face feel tight and smooth, like you just got a face lift. (Although I learned if you use it too much, your face will have a neon green tint to it)

My own experience and random info I find on random sites
Mix lemon juice, rose water and glycerin in equal quantities. Apply daily before retiring to bed. Eat a lot of green vegetables like spinach, cabbage, beans, peas, lettuce, etc. A salad and fruit should be taken daily. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.

most home remedies doesnt perform very well, take for example "sour milk" for exfoliation. the concentration of lactic acid on sour milk is very very low to have any visible effect at all. Better use 2.5% benzoyl peroxide and topical niacinamide.
pls. check http://www.acnetreatmentlab.com for at home acne scar treatment information and homemade acne treatments.

HONEY!!! I have had bad acne for the past year and I recently looked up home remedies for acne about 3 weeks ago. I saw honey and I tried it. OMG, it works perfectly. My face is so clear. Its the clearest it has ever been. I have tried alot of acne products, none of them work. Honey works the best. Seriously, try it!! Toothpaste dries your skin too bad. Don't use it. All you do is use PURE HONEY. Make sure its pure like nothing added like sugar or anything. Wash your face with a mild cleanser and warm water. I use cheap stuff. Then pat dry. Smear the honey all over your face and leave on for about 15 minutes…or longer if you prefer…I leave mine on for an hour sometimes..but at least 15 to 20 minutes. Then wash off with warm water. Then I put on this stuff I have perscribed its called Sodium Sulfacetamide. It's like a lotion. Its the only thing that doesn't dry my skin but if you cant get something like that then just use whatever over the counter product you prefer. You might not have to put anything on afterwards but I do so my skin is protected all night. I do this at night only but you could do this when you wake up and when you go to bed. Try it, it will either work wonders for you or do nothing. It won't hurt. It deff works wonders for me

Hi there!
Before you spent loads of money on the commercial creams and lotions, there are some home remedies that you may wish to try to get rid of your irritating pimples. For acne that flares at that time of the month, drink one to two cups of chasteberry tea a day. Some studies have shown that this herb helps regulate female hormones. However, this herb is only effective if you take it at least 2 to 3 months consistently.
You can also try dabbing vinegar or lemon juice on your pimples. Apply a small portion of the vinegar initially to see if your skin is sensitive to it. Most of the cases, this would not have any sensitivity issues. All vinegars and lemons contain acids that can help flush out pores. Another easy home remedy is to apply aloe vera on your pimples once a day. One study found that 90 percent of skin sores were completely healed with aloe vera within 5 days!
