I have bad acne, and I can't afford to get Proactiv and stuff like that, so does anyone have any home remedies for acne?

Make an oatmeal paste. Use the original kind, not the packets. Mix it with water until it forms a sticky paste. Apply it to your face like a mask. Let it dry. It will be messy and itchy. But it will draw out all the dirt and oil out of your pores. Rinse it off. Then use Witch Hazel as a toner with a cotton ball.

i used to haveterrible acne 4 5 years.. but i sorta got rid of it but i have lots of scars! how do i get rid of the scars without taking medication or having surgery?

crushed aspirin with a little water.. put it on the scars and leave it on over night.. i've read that this softens and lessens the appearance of them.. also maybe adding in some vitamin e capsules might help..

I have a special meeting in two days and I need to lighten some of the acne scars I have. I know this sounds far fetched, but I have heard stories about products and home remedies that lighten scars in just a few days. I was wondering if anyone on here has experienced that or has any suggestions.

Smear some tea tree oil on the scar to help it heal faster.

Put 1-2 drops of lavender essential oil on a cotton ball and apply on scar.

Blanch green tea, soak a cotton ball and apply on the scar to help it heal.

Mix Aloe Vera and vitamin E gel caplets and apply to the scar.

Rub honey on the scar as often as you can to make it heal.

Smear any oil on the scar and massage to help it heal.

Rub some olive oil on scars 2-3 times a day.

I noticed a couple years back when i was sun tanning my scars faded just make sure to use sun screen now im dealing with sun spots!!l lol

ive had acne for a long time and ive heard that home remedies work really well so can anyone give me any ideas cause i want my skin to clear up before school starts

Try these home remedies for acne:

•Mix 1 teaspoon lemon juice with 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder. Apply this paste on the pimples and wash it after 20 minutes with warm water. Repeat for two weeks,

•Use aloe vera juice on the pimples morning and night for as long as necessary (perhaps five months or longer).

•Make orange peel paste by grinding it in some water. Apply on and around pimples.

•Rub garlic on and around pimples.

•Apply fresh mint juice over the face every night for the treatment of pimples.

I need some at home remedies for acne and acne-scaring. No answers with rose water or non-household items please. Also Ineed some tips for keeping its away. Thank you in advance
Well since no one has answered, I'll give you my answer, even if it isn't a household item, technically. There is a cream and face wash that has benzyl peroxide (or something spelled similar) that you can put on your face to clear acne. I use the cream whenever I feel a big pimple coming up and it kills it pretty well. You can get it over the counter (clean and clear makes it) and its the most effective way to get rid of acne without a prescription.

I had acne and got rid of it, but have a few scars.
I need a home remedy besides toothpaste that works.

It's not a perfect solution but, when my face brakes out and leaves scars, I use a scrub (apricot scrub is good) and it removes the dead skin cells. It doesn't get rid of the scars but they get lighter.

i have had rally bad acne for about 2 years and i am sick of it. store bought medicines hardly ever work. so i am now going to try out home remedies. does anyone know of any?

Sorry, but don't listen to the people who tell you to use toothpaste. It can work for a pimple or two, but it's not for bad acne. (btw, if you do use toothpaste be sure to use plain toothpaste, some whitening toothpastes have acids or other kids of bleach in them for the whitening.) Anyway. Acne is caused by clogged pores caused by oil-producing hormones and bacteria. Here are the most basic steps toward clear skin:

1. Stop touching your face! Quit picking at that zit and don't even think about popping that pimple. You transfer oils and dirt and bacteria from your hands to your face when you touch it, only adding to your problem. Make sure you wash your hands before washing your face with them two.

2. Wash your face. You can wash gently twice a day if you'd like, but let your skin have a break sometimes too.

That's the most basic of plans. If that fails you have three options:

1. Try ProActive, I hear it's foolproof. (But be careful, when your acne clears up stop using it, you'll only be damaging your skin.)

2. Talk to your doctor about getting an antibiotic for your skin, if your acne is caused by bacteria, that's far more foolproof than any facewash

3. You can try birth control, which is known to clear up skin because it controls the hormones that cause oil and clogged pores and all that stuff. But a word of warning: your doctor can't 't prescribe birth control for acne, just as a contraceptive. So tell him you need birth control.

Good luck, I'm sure your acne will clear up in no time. Just have patience. And by the way, there may be no way to completely *cure* your acne, but you can control it.

I love home remedies and have found many that work but I havent foun any for acne does anybody know any?!?

The best remedies, that I can recommend that worked for me, was to watch my sugar intake. And during every shower I would use Head & Shoulders Dry Scape care shampoo and after the shower I would clean my pores with rubbing alcohoal. It always worked for me. Some moisturizer after the cleaning helps too.

Or to get rid of acne.... it's b/c I want to help my brother w/ his acne and he tried proactiv, n it made his even worse!!! (at least to me b/c he had bad acne, but now it's even worse.....) well neway, I'm looking for some home remedies for acne... thanx alot!!!!!

Well ask the dermatoligist about brevoxyl wash that stuff is amazin also there is a way to get rid of a zit

DO THIS BEFORE BED

-3 cotton balls
-salt
-cup w/water

-fill up cup with lukewarm water and pour salt in it ( more than you think it needs)

-take cotton ball and hold it under for 60 seconds then squeeze it out so its damp but not drenched

-Hold it firmily on zit for 3 minutes ... by now you can see the top is dissolved but the zit is not gone yet(repeat thisstep until top is dissolved)

- then take two clean cotton balls and put them on oppisite side of the zit and move them togeather repeat until the bump where the zit had been is flattened if you dont do this it will come back in an hour or so. make sure your nail dont pinch your pimple.

- Lastly put some honey on the once zit and go to bed... also you can use alchol to clean out after flattened.
